Internship Recruiting and Placement Service
Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM) has developed an Internship Placement and Referral service to connect municipalities to all of Connecticut's colleges and universities. Municipalities, municipal agencies, local pubic agencies, and private sector employers can post internship opportunities which will be distributed to the internship coordinators at colleges and universities throughout the state. In addition, students wishing to find local government placements can search for opportunities.
This service matches local governments, government agencies and private businesses with short and long term paid and unpaid intern placements.
An internship is a cooperative educational process that is mutually beneficial to both the host and the students/interns. An internship is meant to provide students with "real life" work experience. The internships build upon academic studies with practical and substantive work experience and provide exposure to other aspects of local government.
In Connecticut, there is an extensive base of students in higher learning institutions. Local municipalities have the opportunity to expose these students to the benefits and challenges of working in the public sector, while meeting specific municipality and project needs with motivated interns.
