Workshop:

Learn to Develop a Comprehensive RFP/RFQ
A CCM Workshop
Thursday, October 30, 2008
Middletown City Hall, 245 DeKoven Drive, Middletown, CT

9:00 a.m. – 12 noon, Registration 8:30 a.m.
DESCRIPTION

“You get what you ask for...”

How to develop a comprehensive RFP/RFQ for your next municipal or school construction project.

Changes to recent legislation are forcing more responsibility on the municipalities to ensure they have a clear concise understanding of their project at the RFQ/RFP stage.

Does your RFQ/RFP really spell out all the requirements and scope of your consultants? Or, is it an open invitation to additional service and change orders? When a project is let out to bid for construction, the request is accompanied by volumes of specifications and hundreds of drawings. How do you qualify and determine professional consultant services?

This program will focus on how current legislation affects your municipal or school construction project and how to minimize risk in qualifications and proposal process.

PROGRAM The 'Nuts & Bolts' of RFP's and RFQ's – Don’t Waste Your Time and Money!
  • Define the scope of the project based on your needs, not wants.
  • Learn what should be included, and what should not be.
  • Assess the project based on LEED certification.
  • Find out what CT state laws require regarding limits on the total scope of the project, especially change orders.
  • Determine your evaluation criteria: how do you decide what and who is best for your project.
  • Prepare the RFP / RFQ only after setting clear and concise objectives.
