Bruce joined CIRMA in September 2001 amid a time of turmoil in the insurance
industry. He has led the agency to increased financial strength, program growth,
and service improvement. Since his start, CIRMA’s premiums have grown 439%,
members’ equity 76.5%, and total assets 252%.
Bruce has worked in the insurance industry for almost three decades. Before
joining CIRMA, he was general counsel and vice president for the Blue Ridge Insurance
Company in Simsbury, and has held executive positions at the Middlesex Mutual
Assurance, Shelby Insurance, and Sentry Insurance companies. He has served
on the boards of NLC-MIC, Connecticut Fair Plan, the Connecticut Insurance Guarantee
Association, and the Insurance Association of Connecticut.
