Performs responsible professional and administrative work supervising the collection, examination and interpretation of scientific data and requires a working knowledge of fundamental laws, theories, principles and concepts of the sciences of bacteriology and chemistry and the ability to apply them in the laboratory class with latitude for taking independent action, making independent decisions, and wherever necessary, serving as a “working” laboratorian.
Supervises the coordination and scheduling of all laboratory activities, including, but not limited to environmental and clinical areas. Works under the general direction of the Director of Health.

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Medicine, Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field plus 5 years of clinical or environmental laboratory experience of which 3 years was in a supervisory capacity or the equivalent.
