The following notice applies to this website, which is the Official Website for the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM).
Every computer connected to the Internet is given a domain name and a set of numbers that serve as that computer's "Internet Protocol" IP address. When a visitor requests a page from www.ccm-ct.org, our Web servers automatically recognize that visitor's domain name and IP address. The domain name and IP address reveal nothing personal about you other than the IP address from which you have accessed our site. We use this information to examine our traffic in aggregate, and to investigate misuse of the www.ccm-ct.org site, its users, or to cooperate with law enforcement. (See also "Will you disclose the information you collect to outside third parties?") We do not collect and evaluate this information for specific individuals. Our Web servers do not automatically record e-mail addresses of the visitors.
If You Send Us Personal Information
Moreover, we do not create individual profiles with the information you provide or give it to any private organizations. CCM does not collect information for commercial marketing from this website.
CCM does occasionally provide mailing lists of municipal contact information to interested parties, but this information is not collected via the website, and is otherwise readily available to the public.
Members-Only Information on the Website
Some areas of the website are for the use of CCM members only. To access this information, it is necessary to log in using an assigned password. The login information (user, date and time) is recorded and used only to learn about the number of member visitors to our site.
Email is not a secure medium. Personal information sent via the Internet can be intercepted. You may, therefore, wish to reconsider the advisability of sending messages that contain sensitive, personal information to this Internet address. CCM does not plan on divulging information collected or information disclosed voluntarily, but may be required to do so pursuant to a request under State or Federal law or pursuant to court order. If you believe that your personal information is being used for a purpose other than what was intended when submitted, you may contact the CCM Network Administrator as shown in the Contact Information Section of this statement.

CCM, the web site hosting company, and the manager of this web site have taken several steps to safeguard the integrity of its data and prevent unauthorized access to information maintained. These measures are designed and intended to prevent corruption of data, block unknown or unauthorized access to our systems and information, and to provide reasonable protection of private information in our possession.
CCM, its agencies, officers, or employees exercise no control over the organizations, views, accuracy, availability, copyright or trademark compliance or the legality of the material contained on those servers and do not sponsor, endorse, or approve the information, content, products, materials, opinions or services contained on such external sites. The visitor proceeds to these external sites at their own risk. CCM and its web development company specifically disclaim any and all liability from damages which may result from the accessing of a third party site which is linked to the CCM web site, or from reliance upon any such information.
Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at the point where we request information about the visitor. This site also provides users with the ability to remove their information from our contact database so as not to receive future communications by sending an email to email@example.com, with the phrase "Remove From Email List" entered in to the subject line of the email.
